Hosting a Congress, Convention, Seminar, or Meeting in Lisbon
Lisbon is the world's 6th most popular destination for international congresses, according to ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association). In hosts close to 100 international events per year, more than other major European cities such as London, Madrid, or Brussels.
The major attractions are the excellent facilities, the ideal geographical location (as the closest European capital to the United States,
with a large number of daily connections to South America, and just a couple of hours from the rest of Europe), the mild climate, and
the competitive prices.
Lisbon's riverfront Congress Center is halfway between downtown and
the historic Belem district,
making it a convenient venue for those wishing to also do some sightseeing.
Other options include the Atlantic Pavilion
(the site for the city's mega international events such as the World Indoor Athletics Championship and the MTV Music Awards),
and FIL (the Lisbon International Fair), a large and modern exhibition center in the
Parque das Nações district.
Alternatively, many of the city's major hotels offer special facilities for congresses and other events.

Myriad Hotel makes you feel like you're in Dubai for the architecture and waterfront location. But it's a very Lisbon experience, with views of the Tagus river from anywhere inside the building. Also has a major congress center and several meeting rooms.
Dom Pedro Palace uptown has some
of the best facilities in town, with more than 1,600m2 of meeting space. With 20 meeting rooms, with capacity for receptions for up to 800
people, it is also fully-equipped and offers free Internet access.
Fontana Park Hotel
is a design hotel with 9 multi-purpose rooms with a capacity for up to 400 people. The soundproofed rooms feature audiovisual material,
as well as translation services.
Olissipo Oriente offers smaller rooms
holding up to 50 people, as well as larger ones with a capacity for 350.
VIP Executive Art's offers 8 meeting rooms that can be adapted for
any event, all fully equipped with audiovisual materials.
