Scenery and surfing
You won't find many foreign tourists at the beaches around Santa Cruz, a
village north of Ericeira.
But although the strong waves don't invite much swimming, it is popular
with surfers and the beauty of the coastline formed by rocks in the middle
of the sea make it a very attractive beach off the beaten path.
From Lisbon, take an express bus from the Campo Grande terminal to
Torres Vedras (40 minutes), where there's a connecting bus service to Santa Cruz, ending
right by the beach.
