On a recent business trip to Lisbon I was referred to Sinal by a nearby
liquor store owner. Over the course of the previous week we had generally
very poor customer service in restaurants. Despite being in the middle of
a tourist area, Sinal was completely the opposite. We received warm,
friendly and attentive service from Caesar and Mauro who kept the food and
the fun going during our meal. I can't comment on the cost of the
appetizers vs. other restaurants because I found it common for everything
to have a charge. As someone from out of town, the prices seemed very
reasonable and the food was excellent. It was the Mauro and Caesar's superb
customer service---to people who were obviously tourists--that really stood
out at Sinal. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an intimate,
casual restaurant serving local cuisine.

Very bad experience, the worst that I have had in Lisbon.
I agree with Maria in every points.
Fisrt of all, when you arrive, they are very very cool, and offer to you a
starter of cheese and other tipical portuguese products. They also ask if
you want to drink a "porto" (portuguese wine)... you accept everything,
because normaly Lisbon is not very expensive.
But, when you'll pay your bill you have an unpleasent surprise, you'll pay
for everything (also the bread). And you'll pay high, for a meal that is
not exceptional.
So, if you are in Lisbon, don't go there, and tell it to your friends !
Sinal Vermelho in Lisbon, never !

The restaurant was expensive and the quality left much to be desired, at
the beginning you get a starter of cheese, you do not report the price
until you pass the bill with an amount of 12,50 € for two people. The
service, ask for a dish each and the one served us long after it ended the
other, in either case neither reached a minimum quality food, my steak was
dry and hard paying for it 14 €, two small cups of white port charged us
€ 9. At the end we left very unhappy and we saw more people on the street
commenting on similar situations in the same restaurant.
