Henrique Sá Pessoa is one of Portugal's most promising young chefs, and after years working at some of Lisbon's best restaurants, he decided to open his own in 2009. Located in the Santos district, it has an all-white interior where you can enjoy his signature dishes largely inspired by Portuguese cuisine. It's one of the most elegantly designed spaces in the city and a recommended choice to sample contemporary Portuguese cuisine through reasonably-priced tasting menus.

My elderly mother and I dined at ALMA back in August and enjoyed a relaxed,
friendly and delicious meal. We were treated like royalty by the staff who
were extremely attentive to our every need. Recommendations were spot on
and helpful for me with cheese allergies. We enjoyed the varied menu and
course selection accompanied by rich full Portuguese wine. The evening was
made complete by meeting and chatting with Chef Henrique himself. He is a
delightful man with lots of talent . It was a pleasure to be a guest in his
dining establishment. We look forward to a return visit.
