Vegetarian Restaurants
Not carnivorous? No problem!
Until only a few years ago, there weren't many vegetarian options in Lisbon.
But now there are several vegetarian restaurants in the city, and all are quite good
(famous vegan musician Moby has raved about two of them and even the Dalai Lama visited another).
And you don't have to be vegetarian to enjoy them, especially Jardim dos Sentidos, GoLisbon.com's favorite. More details below:

JARDIM DOS SENTIDOS

$ A friendly staff greets you at this vegetarian restaurant that
also offers outdoor seating in a pleasant backyard.
At lunch it serves a buffet, while for dinner there is a variety of vegetarian entrees.
There are also has some tempting desserts such as passion fruit
mousse and a large number of teas.
A separate space offers alternative therapies such as acupuncture and shiatsu.

$ This is a great option for a quick and inexpensive vegetarian, vegan, or simply healthy meal right in the center of the city.
Choose from several menus consisting of hot or cold dishes and salads.
ORIENTE

$ It may be called "Oriente," but this is not an Asian restaurant. Instead,
you'll find an all-you-can-eat buffet with vegetarian and macrobiotic
servings, and delicious non-dairy desserts along with an upbeat ambience.
PALADAR ZEN

$ An ever-changing buffet of hot and cold servings to satisfy vegetarian palates.
Despite the name and unlike other vegetarian restaurants in the city, there is little "zen" in the décor -
this is a contemporary and minimalist space. The buffet has a fixed price (you can go back for seconds - or thirds)
but excludes drinks and desserts.
PSI

Surrounded by a lovely public garden, this very Zen restaurant (Dalai Lama visited it) has two dining areas,
one of them outside (although covered). It has an overall relaxing ambience with soft lighting, and the décor
(as well as the menu) has a slightly Indian or Pakistani touch. Good teas and desserts.
TERRA

$ As a favorite of famous vegan musician Moby who also owns a
restaurant in New York, this is a safe bet for sure. Using mostly organic
ingredients, it offers a buffet consisting of salads and some creative
vegetarian versions of traditional Portuguese dishes. It also has a good
selection of natural juices and some delicious desserts.
TIBETANOS

$ Part of a Buddhist center, this welcoming restaurant has pure
vegetarian options. The excellent juices stand out in a menu consisting of
salads, soups, and pasta dishes.
