Although tour groups often pack this Fado restaurant (this is where "The Rolling Stones" experienced Fado after their last
concert in Lisbon) and it can therefore feel
less authentic than other venues in Alfama, it has attracted well known performers
and the food is good.
Built in the foundations of an aristocratic house that was destroyed in the
earthquake of 1755, it has redbrick and stone columns, and a huge fireplace.
