GoCars GPS Guided Tours of Lisbon

GoCars Tours, Lisbon

Nominated as one of the coolest inventions of the year by Time Magazine

"Tourists, it's time to dump the map and jump inside a GoCar." - CNN Headline News

GoCars on Lisbon's streetsGoLisbon is proud to be able to offer the unique GoCar GPS Guided Audio Tours and with exclusive GoLisbon discounts of up to 5%. These fun 3-wheelers may look like toys, and indeed they are incredibly easy to drive, but they hide some serious technology under the hood!

Prices from just 24 euros per car!

GoCars are 2-person, GPS-guided, intelligent talking tour cars with a 60 mile (nearly 100Km) range and a sophisticated onboard computer which ensures you'll never get lost, even when straying from our pre-programmed routes. Onboard story-telling commentary bringing the city to life and describing the sights is available in English, Spanish, German, French & Portuguese.

The audio is a real human voice, not computer generated, and includes jokes, anecdotes about the city, information about the Portuguese language and also the Portuguese culture including the different types of popular music. Listen to this excerpt describing Lisbon's Castle, or this one mentioning the ride up one of Lisbon's seven hills towards the Graça area.

Not only is driving a GoCar fun, it's also practical because you take the tour at your own pace. Go slow and explore all of Lisbon's nooks and crannies, stopping to enjoy the sights you want to see, or push the little yellow convertibles to their top-speed of over 30mph (50km/h) and whiz round to complete the tours in as little as 45 minutes if you're in a rush!

The following GoCar video was taken when the GoCars were introduced in San Francisco.
Now available in Lisbon!

Let the GoCar do the work for you and follow the guided tour with the accompanying commentary, or be adventurous and turn off the programmed path to navigate your own way around the city with the provided map and instructions. And the GPS system ensures you'll never get lost. You can even listen to your own music in the CD player as you make your way round!

The GoCars can navigate virtually the entire city, except for the very steepest hills, although marvellous viewpoints like St. Jorge's Castle and the Miradoura da Graça are perfectly attainable. And though you are not allowed to cross Lisbon's bridges, you can certainly approach them like our GoCar below for some unforgettable photograph opportunities.
