Although tour groups often pack this Fado restaurant and it can therefore feel
less authentic than other venues in Alfama, it has attracted well known performers (and some big-name clients, such as the Rolling Stones and Madonna).
Built in the foundations of an aristocratic house that was destroyed in the
earthquake of 1755, it has redbrick and stone columns, and a huge fireplace.
