Fado queen Amalia Rodrigues sang here, so it is understandable that it is now one of
Lisbon's most famous Fado spots. But this is no longer a place filled with tradition
as it now caters almost exclusively to tourists' amusement, even throwing in folklore
from the north of Portugal. The food is decent but expensive. Still, this is the most
recommendable Fado house in Bairro Alto.
